The one-page GTM decision worksheet

Six questions before your next launch.

01 / Customer

Who has the problem?

Name one specific customer segment, the person who feels the pain, and who makes the buying decision.

Prompt: We are starting with ___ because ___.

02 / Trigger

Why act now?

Describe the event or frustration that makes this problem urgent. Separate what customers have told you from what you assume.

Prompt: They seek a solution when ___.

03 / Offer

What changes for them?

Write the outcome in the customer’s words. Explain the alternative they use today and the reason to switch.

Prompt: We help ___ achieve ___ without ___.

04 / Reach

Where can you learn?

Choose one channel where you can reach this segment directly. Define the message and the next action you will ask for.

Prompt: We will reach ___ through ___ and ask them to ___.

05 / Evidence

What would change your mind?

Pick a signal linked to demand: qualified replies, product trials, paid pilots, or another concrete customer action. Set your threshold before testing.

Prompt: We will continue if ___; revise if ___.

06 / Experiment

What happens this week?

Set an owner, deadline, small budget, and review date. Test the riskiest assumption before committing to a larger build.

Prompt: By ___, ___ will test ___ with ___ customers.

Bring the uncertainty into focus.

A useful plan makes its assumptions visible. Keep a short evidence log: what you expected, what customers actually did, and what you will change next.

  • Choose a narrow starting segment before trying to serve everyone.
  • Distinguish an encouraging conversation from willingness to pay.
  • Measure the customer action that matters for this stage.
  • Change one major variable at a time so you can interpret the result.
